The Gardens at Northmoor House

No large country house is complete without it's gardens and the ones at Northmoor provide ample space not only for games of croquet etc on the lawn, but also lots of quiet  and secluded corners for those times when one needs to be alone.

                  Space enough for weddings

The Rhododendrons and Azaleas are naturally at their best in late May and June, but there are many other interesting trees and shrubs to make it attractive at all times.  We are still developing some areas.  A garden is a constantly changing thing.

Northmoor can be a very magical place

Like many old houses the gardens are not what they were 100 years ago and it is not possible for us to restore them to that sort of use, but one can still see in the ruins of the greenhouses something of what it was like then.

Occasionally, one can get glimpses of the wild Red Deer that roam around Exmoor, and sometimes even in the garden!

Views such as this of the Barle River Valley in Autumn can be found just a short walk from the House
