The generous accommodation includes two sitting rooms that can be joined as one, thus giving versatility and the opportunity for all to be together. One room has an open fire and Hi-Fi (with turntable & LP's!), while the other has a CTV, VCR, and a tuned piano. These comfortable sitting rooms lead on to the ample Dining room where 18 can sit at one table and 6 at another. Full supplies of cutlery, crockery, glasses, food warmers, table mats, tablecloths are provided, and even candlesticks to give a real atmosphere to those special meals together. Smart clothes are a must!

The Heart of any house is the Kitchen, and the Kitchen at Northmoor is no exception. A four oven Aga is the focal point, and a table that seats 12 or more make this room possibly the most popular in the House, until it's time for washing up maybe! Although even that is not too much of a drudge with the two dishwashers supplied, and the double sink unit. A convenient door leads out into the garden and a sheltered corner for breakfast or morning coffee at the benches and tables there. A large portable party barbecue and log fired patio heater make it also a favoured place for late summer evenings. There is a 5-ring LPG cooker with large oven to supplement the Aga, a microwave, large fridge/freezer, (with a second fridge in the Dining Room, mainly for drinks), which together with the two dishwashers, food processor, large and small mixers, and as many other cooking utensils as anyone would need make it a Kitchen many would dream about. The House has a private supply of clear, soft, Exmoor Spring Water. Beautiful for drinking and washing.
Next to the Kitchen is the Guests' Laundry with washing Machine and Tumble-Dryer.
Just across the passage from the Kitchen is the Twin Bedroom and en-suite Shower Room that are both approved to Category 2 for wheelchair access. The Shower room can also be accessed from the passageway to allow use by other house guests if required. There are no steps or narrow doorways on the entire ground floor of the House, so a wheelchair can have access to all rooms and the Garden without difficulty.

The Main Entrance Hall has a Snooker Room
leading off it with a full size table for adult use. A secondary
entrance to the House, (originally theHousekeeper's entrance), leads into
what we call the Gun Room, where is a small snooker table for children to
use and also a payphone. This room is an ideal place for wet weather
clothing and dogs. There is also a small secret staircase leading
from this room to the Housekeeper's bedroom above. The main staircase
leads up from the Entrance Hall, and another staircase is next to the
downstairs bedroom, just opposite the Dining Room. Three staircases in
all.
Also on the Ground Floor, just off the Guest Laundry is another Games Room with full size Table tennis and Darts. Croquet can be played on the Lawn and there is a separate playing field for games such as football and cricket. |
FIRST FLOOR BEDROOMS ETC.
Master Bedroom Flower Room
The first floor has three single bedrooms, one with duvet and two with sheets and blankets.
Three double bedrooms have standard double beds with sheets and blankets, one room having basin with shaver point. A fourth double room has a king size bed with a duvet.
Two twin bedded rooms have sheets and blankets and basins with shaver points. One twin room has 3' 6" beds with duvets.
One bedroom has three single beds with sheets and blankets, as a family room.
Up to three folding beds for children are available on request at a small charge.
Three cots for children under two are provided. Bedlinen only supplied for cots on request
One bath sheet and one bath towel are provided for each guest.
There are three bathrooms, one with hand shower on bath, toilet and basin. One with shower over bath, toilet basin and bidet and a third bathroom with bath, basin and toilet. A separate toilet with basin is available on each floor.
Heating and hot water are mainly by oil fired boiler with three bedrooms and one bathroom having electric heating.
A maximum of two pets are welcome and are charged extra, (as price list)
Smoking is restricted to the ground floor.
